Predicting Perfection

Monday, November 22, 2004

I was thinking about the future. It seems to me that we are naturally progressing into more perfect beings. The technologies that are being developed today such as genetic manipulation, nanorobotics, and cosmetic surgery will eventually be available to anyone that can afford a hair dryer. What happens then when we’re all perfect people?

Right now a perfect body is something that is rare and desirable, but what will be the new distinguishing criteria when everyone is perfectly toned and blemish-free? Will everyone actually be forced to judge based on (gasp!) personality? I don’t know about that, but it’s interesting to think about.

I’m waiting for those nanobots that will eradicate a belly in a matter of minutes. Then we can all drink more beer and not exercise and die. Yeah…good times.

    what brought about all this?

    Exercising is fun.

Hiding things with technology isn’t. e.g. Prozac, Adderall
