Changes

Sunday, January 23, 2005

I think it’s sad when some people, usually of an earlier generation, refuse to change with the world. Society and people are constantly changing–it’s part of life. Yet still there are some that cling to old traditions, stubborn in their ways and unwilling to bend, even for their loved ones that are changing.

It appears that this is more common in societies that have deep religious roots, such as the Puritan Christians, Orthodox Jews, and traditional Muslims. I feel that too much is lost in this short life of ours by those who refuse to change with, or even cope with, society and other people.

It would be a better world if we were all on the same wavelength, but that is a bit impractical.
