Composite Web App of the Year

Monday, April 11, 2005

It’s making its way around the net and I will continue the trend. Paul Rademacher has brought the power of Google Maps and the information base from Craigslist into what I nominate for the Best Composite Web App of the Year.

Just in the last ten minutes of conversation with friends there have been innumerable suggestions for spinoffs including personal ads, car ads, and pretty much any other type of classifieds. I hope that this effort is encouraged and embraced, as this is what we all want–synergy of multiple information sources to make life easier for everyone. The possibilities are endless; anything that has a physical location should end up in an interface powered by Google Maps.

There are privacy concerns as always, but there is plenty of public information that can be mapped without concern.
