I am a fanatic about not getting sick. In the rare case that I do come down with a little of something, I do whatever it takes to get better as fast as humanly possible. Many people don’t take this approach and it bothers me when they complain.
My aggressive routine is as follows: At the first sign of excess mucus, a tickle in the throat, a cough, or anything else resembling a cold, take one dose of Airborne, drink at least one gallon of water per day, eat salted sunflower seeds (David’s work) constantly while awake, and get at least eight hours of sleep every night. The more sleep the better. Avoid sugar like it’s sulfuric acid and eat bland foods (rice, pasta, bread).
I continue this routine rigorously until I have successfully defeated the sickness. In the past five years I have only fully caught one cold. The success rate, I’m sure, comes from the military-like regimentation of diet, liquids, and sleep. People continue on with their daily lives while they’re sick as if it’s just an inconvenience, letting the “sickness run its course”. That may be the case with some sicknesses, but the vast majority of colds are defeatable if not completely avoidable.
So stop complaining and start the routine.

My technique is to stand on your head for five minutes, then stand up normally, hold one leg in a bent position behind you and spin around for 30 seconds. Then drink chicken soup through your nose.
If you follow this procedure, I guarantee your cold will be gone in 1-2 weeks.
Where have you been? Sick? :P
(I really liked Huey’s comment)
Busy beyond belief, actually. I think I might be in a mood to write later this week.
