To fear love is to fear life, and those who fear life are already three parts dead.
There are endless expressions and explanations of love throughout written history and they all have something to offer the interested reader. My intention is not to wax poetic, however, but to highlight the very concrete ways that love intersects with and alters one’s life. Love in the broader sense, including parenthood, amorous relationships and strong friendships, is one of many necessary components of a good life, in my view. I write on why that may be, how we should strive to better understand it, and how my outlook on life is changed by it.
